Robert Zochodne has over 40 years experience in the legal profession. He has been a practising lawyer in Oshawa since 1984 with his sole focus on litigation since his call to the Bar. He was the President of the Durham Region Law Association from 1998 to 2000. Rob was Chair of the County & District Law Presidents' Association (now FOLA), a provincial group representing 46 local Law Associations, from November 2009 to May, 2011. Rob served as a Director of the Advocates' Society from 2011 to 2013.
Rob has been certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a specialist in civil litigation since 1998. His litigation practice focuses on commercial litigation including construction disputes, serious personal injury claims, employment disputes, estate litigation, and complex family law matters. He has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals and the Ontario courts, both at the trial and appellate level.
He has participated in numerous consultations with the Province of Ontario and others with respect to civil litigation matters, including the Discovery Task Force, Contingency Fees regulation and the Province's 5 year operations plans.
Rob was born and raised in Oshawa. He graduated from Paul Dwyer High School in 1977 and attended the University of Western Ontario. Rob has extensive community involvement including serving as a director on a United Way funded agency and coaching tackle football at the high school and club level, serving as head coach of a junior division of the Oshawa Hawkeyes for several years. He has served as Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court for over 20 years.
I am a dispute resolution practitioner with a background in Family Law. I have maintained a diverse family law practice for 30 years in both a boutique and large law firm setting. I have acted for clients involved in custody disputes, property matters, support matters and dealt with Hague Convention issues in various levels of Court and in private negotiations.
During that time I also developed a practice that focused on dispute resolution. I have experience resolving complex, multi-issue disputes dealing with diverse matters. I am committed to understanding the key issues between the parties and to assist in finding creative and practical solutions to resolve disputes. At this time, my process would involve online virtual attendances as may suit the parties’ schedules.
I have served as a Board member and on the executive of both the Thunder Bay Law Association and the Durham Law Association. I have also served on the executive of FOLA (CDLPA as it was then) and on various Boards in both Thunder Bay and Durham Region.
I obtained my LL.B. (now J.D.) in 1991 from Osgoode Hall. Previous to that I attended University of Ottawa and completed two years in Political Science.
Brad Zochodne is a lawyer with the Zochodne Bucci Oshawa office. He focuses his practice on general civil litigation, covering a wide variety of areas of law such as construction law, product liability and contract disputes. Brad has appeared before the Ontario Small Claims Court, Superior Court and Divisional Court.
Brad was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario and graduated from Paul Dwyer High School in 2007. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Western Ontario, and traveled to Australia where he received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Melbourne Law School. Outside of the office Brad enjoys travelling, sports and spending time with his family.
